Freddie is a licensed minister of the United Pentecostal Church International.


He was born in the Yadkin Valley region of North Carolina, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.


He began learning to play the piano at two years old on a toy piano that was a Christmas gift.


He received his very first record during the Christmas of 1976.


It was an Elvis Presley album.


He enjoyed playing the flutophone in the 5th grade.


He was in the choral and drama departments during his high school years.


He enjoys bluegrass gospel, praise & worship music, black gospel, classical music and the opera.


His favorite foods are "good ole" country cooking, eastern North Carolina BBQ, eastern North Carolina cheese biscuits, Italian, Middle Eastern and cheese.


His favorite desserts are lemon meringue pie, red velvet cake with old fashioned pecan-coconut icing and cheesecake.


His favorite candy is caramel.


The first song he ever sang in public (in church) was "Jesus Is The One."


He enjoys painting, songwriting, flea markets, yard sales, travel and sight-seeing.


He enjoys fishing.


He enjoys picking blackberries in the summertime.


He loves to laugh until it hurts.
